The Wedding Design Process

1 | Get in touch.
The first step in signing up for our wedding event planning services is to reach out to us. You can contact us via phone, email, or through our website's contact form. Let us know that you are interested in our wedding event planning services and provide any initial details or questions you may have.
2 | We’ll meet.
Once you've reached out to us, we will email through our Wedding Day questionnaire. Once we receive this back, we will organise a consultation to discuss your wedding vision, preferences, and requirements. This consultation can take place either in person, over the phone, through video conferencing or email. It's an opportunity for us to get to know each other, understand your needs, and determine if we are the right fit for your wedding planning journey, and to also make sure we are the right florist for you & your floral budget.
3 | Proposal & agreement.
After the consultation, we will prepare a detailed proposed invoice and mood board that outlines the services we will provide, along with the associated costs & inspirational images. This proposed invoice will be tailored to your specific floral needs and preferences. Once you review and approve the proposal, we will provide you with a contract that formalises our partnership and outlines the terms and conditions.
4 | Booking & deposit.
Once you are satisfied with the proposed invoice and contract, the next step is to secure your wedding planning services by signing the contract and submitting a deposit. The deposit amount and payment details will be specified on the invoice. This step ensures that your wedding date is reserved on our calendar and that we can begin planning your dream event.
5 | Collaboration & planning.
With the contract and deposit in place, we will embark on an exciting journey of collaboration and planning. We will work closely with you to understand your vision, assist with vendor selection, provide guidance on design elements, and help you navigate the various aspects of wedding planning. Throughout the process, we will maintain open communication, offer regular updates, and ensure that your wedding planning experience is enjoyable and stress-free.

I love peonies just as deeply as the next person, but I really don’t love a peony that’s out of season. Familiarize yourself with the floral stars of your wedding season, and don't get too attached to a particular flower. A flower in its season is bursting with life and rightness. Seasonality makes sense on so many levels, from sustainability to cost. It's far better to focus on palette and vibe and give your designer the freedom to use the best seasonal blooms to that end. We encourage brides to keep an open mind when approaching flowers. We find that the result is always better when you let the season's colors and floral varieties steer your design direction.

Orphic Arcane Floristry proudly offers three Wedding packages. Elopements, require a minimum $500 floral investment, Micro-Weddings with a minimum of $1,500 and Full Service Weddings with 50 guests and above, $3,500. This ensures high-quality blooms and beautiful, bespoke designs. Pricing varies depending on the size of the wedding, the number of floral arrangements needed, and the type of designs/flowers desired.

Each wedding is unique, but a good rule of thumb is that you should allocate about 15% of your overall wedding budget to florals. If you are looking for very lush, elaborate floral designs you should plan on closer to 20%- 25% of your overall budget.

We primarily focus on florals but do have a limited number of taper candle holders, clear plinths, flower stands and vessels available to rent (please inquire for more details).

Upon submitting your floral inquiry form, we will proceed to craft a detailed floral design estimate and provide a concise visual mood board. Following this, we will engage in discussions to accommodate any adjustments you may desire. Once the design is in proximity to your preferences, we kindly request a signed contract along with a $500 booking fee. Rest assured, even after contract signing, you retain the flexibility to make further changes.
The contractual agreement and booking fee serve to secure our commitment to being available for your wedding date. We remain dedicated as your personal florist, committed to refining and perfecting your envisioned wedding floral design. Notably, the booking fee is deductible from your final invoice should you decide to select Orphic Arcane as your preferred florist.

We are mindful of the floral industry's impact on the environment. We strive to use local and in-season blooms as often as possible to help support our local farmers and lower our carbon footprint; however, we primarily use imported florals with our fresh flowers. Our premium fresh touch is sourced from Floral Interiors, Melbourne.

This will depend on the size of the wedding, the time frame, the floral arrangements (if they are of considerable size), and weather conditions. This is specific to each wedding as no two weddings are the same. Please mention that you want to discuss repurposing your ceremony flowers when enquiring.
